At this price level, sculptures from dog size up to figures of human scale are conceivable. Their skin consists of several layers of lacquer, applied in the workshop, sanded and polished. The effort lies less in the material than in the shaping and the finish. If you look for collectible pieces with a series background, watch for numbering and for mixed media works or pop motifs.

Setting up and caring
Fiberglass is hollow and weighs little, but consider wind load and stability outdoors. Ask about fixing and about the type of lacquer. Clean with warm water and a soft cloth, and use polish only after checking with the artist. Small chips can be touched up if the original paint is known.
