Light from cuts
A linocut has no soft focus, an Impressionist motif does: together they yield sheets where light emerges from flats and cut marks. Color Impressionist linocuts are for sale here, a rare mix of toughness and mood.
Where painting dabs, linoleum cuts: short strokes with a gouge create shimmering textures that settle in the impression as water, foliage, or sky. Several colors lie on top of each other and mix in the eye. The special thing is that the cuts themselves do not disappear but remain as rhythm in the picture.

Hanging with effect
The interplay needs distance: from two meters the cuts merge into atmosphere. Hang the sheet on a wall with a clear view and swap harsh light for a soft lamp. A light frame in natural wood or white takes any heaviness out of the sheet.

In the description, check the number of print passes and whether there is a numbered edition. Hand-pulled impressions vary slightly in density of color, which belongs to their character and shows when you compare two pulls. With two impressions from the same edition a comparison is worthwhile, since small color differences may suit your taste.
