Gauze, card, sand, varnish, and filler layer into the printing plate. Depending on thickness, each zone takes ink differently, and in pressing, valleys and ridges form in the paper. Abstraction becomes tangible here. With luck you can still make out the structure of the source materials in the embossing.

Wall effect with light

Watching the details
In this price range elaborately built plates and heavy paper are the rule. Ask about edition, paper weight, and number of color passes. A note on how the plate was sealed also points to careful work. Carefully built plates withstand several pulls, and the description usually tells how many there were.
