Movement as motif
Gestural photography resembles handwriting made of light: swirls, streaks and traces that the eye follows. You can find expressive photo prints for sale here, and the paper holds the dynamics cleanly.
Instead of an object, the picture shows a process: a sweep, a throw, a dance. The traces spread across the surface and steer the gaze. On photographic paper, bright lines stand clear against a dark ground, and fine trailing ends stay visible where a weaker print would swallow them.
