Colored haze and shimmer
Impressionism in color means, in photography, that tones merge like wet watercolor, except that they were made from light. You can find impressionist color photos on photo paper for sale here if you are looking for mood and warmth.
When yellow, pink and green run together without a hard border, the impression is of a moment you cannot hold. Photo paper preserves the gentle gradients, whereas strong gloss would tend to disturb the effect. Matte or satin paper is therefore often the calmer choice.

Where such a picture fits
Bright rooms with daylight, ideally without reflections. Above a sofa or a dining table the picture creates a friendly zone. A frame in oak or white supports the light tone, while strong frame colors would pull too much attention from the shimmer.
Selection and care
Ask about paper, size and edition. Soft color pictures should not hang permanently in the sun, since the delicate pigments would suffer. A note on the printing process explains how well the gradients hold up.
