Stillness made of stone
Metaphysical painting shows empty squares, long shadows and objects arranged as if in dreams. For 500 to 1,000 euro you can find metaphysical paintings with natural stone for sale whose stillness gains depth from the material.
The metaphysics of these pictures lives on breadth and standstill: arcades, towers, objects without a place. When the ground is stone, that stillness is felt without being explained. The grain looks like dust the light has not stirred up.

Hanging and lighting
A work like this tolerates distance. Hang it on a large free wall and light it from above with soft, warm light, so the long shadows in the picture come into their own.
Selection aids
Check support and weight. Ask also whether the stone is left natural or treated. Have weight and size confirmed. The metaphysical lives on breadth. Anyone hanging such a picture in a small room should check the viewing distance: from one and a half meters it works differently than from four. Try it beforehand with a photo. Ask for dimensions.
