Shadows as a design tool
Characteristic are long shadows falling in the wrong direction. They are mostly painted in dark, matte acrylic, in contrast to the bright sky. Observe whether the shadows run consistently or deliberately work against each other, as that is part of the intention.
On acquiring one
Ask about dimensions and support, and whether the surface is sealed. Large, calm surfaces show flaws mercilessly, so a neatly stretched frame and well-kept edges matter. A white floating frame is the simplest solution.
