Meaning in layers
Symbolist painting in ink at large scale turns twilight into space: veils, shadows, signs that only order themselves on the second look. Symbolist paintings in ink from 1,000 to 2,000 euro are for sale here, as pictures one lives with.
Symbolism encodes what it means. A figure in mist, a mirror without counterpart, a gate in gray: ink builds these motifs in glazes so that the dark gains depth and the signs remain half hidden.

Size and stillness
Large symbolist works belong on walls with distance: a room for reading, a passage with dimmed light, an office with a calm program. Dark frames or fine shadow gaps underline the weight of the motif.
Notes on execution
In this price range, multilayered techniques are common among originals. Ask about ink type, varnish or fixative, and support material. Information on title and year of origin also helps to classify the picture and keep its history traceable later.
