Two layers, two tempos
Acrylic and ink are a well-rehearsed pair in abstract painting: one covers, the other draws. Abstract paintings in acrylic and ink are for sale here, on paper, canvas, or wood.
Acrylic dries quickly and can be stacked in several layers, while ink stays wet longer and flows. Combining the two lets a picture develop in stages: first area, then line, then area again. You can see the layers at the edges of the forms.

Lively contrasts
Matte acrylic fields beside glossy ink traces create surfaces that change in the light. Raking light emphasizes structure, frontal light the color. Hang the picture where daylight shifts, for example in a hallway with a window.
Support and protection
Depending on the support material, the picture needs glass or varnish. Ask about it and have the ink type and signature named. Acrylic tolerates dust better than ink, so it pays to clean delicate spots only with a soft brush.
