Surface against line
When almost nothing happens on a canvas, every detail has to be right. To buy minimalist paintings in acrylic and oil pastel here is to weigh a quiet surface against a single stroke. Each one is a painting for sale of its own kind.
Acrylic delivers the large, even field of color, free of brush marks when carefully done. Oil pastel adds a line or a narrow band that stays grainy and enlivens the surface. A single gesture like that can carry an entire picture. One nuance decides a lot: whether the crayon is matte white or slightly creamy, whether the acrylic field was kept cool or warm. Two tones that are barely distinguishable add up to a temperature of their own in the room.

White wall, clear light
Minimalist formats gain when they hang alone and the room stays uncluttered. Daylight from the side brings out the texture of the pastel.

Useful notes cover the ground, the treatment of the edges and any fixative. Ask also whether the picture comes framed or unframed, since the frame changes the effect noticeably.
