Originals in this selection, Acrylic on canvas, Material Charcoal, 2,000 to 5,000 euro.

Formats from 160 x 120 to 165 x 170 cm.

A canvas with a double life

Acrylic on canvas and charcoal complement each other at large format: the paint gives the picture body, the charcoal its rhythm. Paintings in this technique from 2,000 to 5,000 euro are for sale here, whether restrained or in motion.

On the stretched surface, acrylic carries rich black, white or color, and the charcoal draws its own lines in the gaps. Depending on how thick the ground is, it holds differently. That produces breaks where the eye catches.

Notes for 2,000 to 5,000 euro

With originals at this level you can expect larger canvases. Ask about the depth of the stretcher, varnish or fixative and whether the back is inscribed or signed. That secures the attribution of the work.

Hanging and light

Large canvases need two fixings and a wall that can bear weight. Light from the side brings out the structure of the charcoal, a spotlight straight from above flattens it. A shadow-gap frame is a good choice for the edge.
