Calm through composition
Classical painting relies on order, proportion and a quiet balance of colors. Anyone who wants classical gouache paintings under 500 euro for sale will find landscape, figure or still life in a well-balanced composition.
In a classical style the structure carries the picture: foreground, middle ground and distance guide the eye. Gouache helps with cleanly bounded fields of color and muted, earthy tones. It looks relaxed even when the work behind it was carefully calculated.

Walls that suit it
Such sheets work in traditional rooms with wooden furniture as well as in clear, bright apartments. A quiet frame in oak or white gives them weight. A look at the paper and mat in the description shows whether the sheet is protected for the long run, since gouache ages better away from the sun.
Quiet subjects, fine colors
Classical gouaches favor subjects known for centuries: fruit, jugs, hills, portraits. The special quality lies in how color is handled, for example in warm shadows and cool lights. Notice how a blue recedes into the background.
