Line as if set in type
Crisp outlines, deliberate hatching and sometimes hand-lettered words: graphic pencil drawings look almost printed, yet every line is drawn by hand. If you want to buy illustrative and typographic work for sale under 500 euro, there is plenty of room in subject and size.
Artists here tend to use hard leads, which allow thin, even strokes. Tone comes from dense parallel hatching, contrast from the white of the paper. When letters appear, they are drawn rather than printed, and tiny irregularities give away the hand.

Stronger in a row
Illustrative sheets work alone but gain the most as a group: three identically framed pieces side by side read like a story. Slim black or oak frames suit a hallway, kitchen or home office. Even simple means go far: a set of small drawings with a recurring motif forms a pattern of its own and still counts as an original, not a print off a roll.
Original or print?
Under raking light, real graphite shows a faint metallic sheen, while a print stays evenly matte. A loupe will also reveal a dot screen on a reproduction.
