Original artwork description
This work is intended as a historical document that captures, without embellishment, the deep divisions and contrasts of our present day.By transferring original images and text from current daily newspapers onto raw wooden panels in a mirror-reversed format,a documentary symbiosis is created between natural materials and the media landscape.
„Nature-DAX directly juxtaposes the relentless dynamics of stock markets and share prices with the realities of hunger, poverty and global environmental destruction.Faces of activism encounter the symbols of money and power. The mirrored depiction challenges conventional media reception: it forces us to rethink our perspectives, deconstructs the daily flood of information and makes the tension between economic profit and ecological and humanitarian crises tangible.
