A journey... the journey is the destination

This journey began about three years ago, without any real plan.
It's actually very similar to Paul Klee's dot, which sets out and leaves a line.

After some time of conceptualizing, pondering, and programming, important questions emerge.
As artist you have had many years of experience with own accounts on various platforms, that selling is almost always difficult for the majority of artists and also depends on luck:

  • Does my art fit this platform?
  • Can I afford the fees and commissions?

  • Are there tools for creating documents, etc., for calls for artists?
  • Are there tools for pricing your artwork?

  • Do curators help boost my visibility?
  • Are the algorithms actually fair to everyone?
  • Do I have to pay for my own advertising on the platform?

  • Are there direct contacts available?
  • Are there internal forums for exchanging ideas with fellow artists?
  • Do the platform operators care about artist feedback?

In addition, virtually all sales platforms are thoroughly commercialized and driven by their own sales success.
We are happy for the artists who sell successfully on these platforms. But we all know they represent only a small fraction of the entire artist community.
Do you know of any platform that reinvests noticeably more than just a minimal portion of its profits back into the artists?

Artplaner has only just begun its journey, and we hope it will be a long one — both for us artists and for our current and future customers.
We want to leave behind the cleanest line possible, while still making all the important points visible.

Last but not least, there are still a few construction sites on this page, which is why we’re currently calling it the beta phase.
We’re a start-up with a business plan and on the lookout for like-minded collaborators, and we’re sure to make a few mistakes along the way.
But one thing is certain: this beta phase won’t last long, and we hope for the understanding of all participating artists and future customers!
