Pigments on cotton paper
A giclée reproduces digital or scanned comic drawings with lightfast pigment inks on fine-art paper, stroke by stroke. Comic giclées for sale under 500 euro suit you if you want crisp outlines and rich color in good paper quality.
In giclée, fine nozzles spray several layers of ink onto paper. On cotton paper with a soft surface, comic colors look velvety; on smooth photo paper they pop. Both can be intended, and you see it best by comparing. Where the comic originates on a computer, giclée is the obvious bridge to paper.

Original or reproduction
Giclée is a reproduction process, yet artists also use it for independent editions. What counts is how the sheet is described: numbered edition, signature, and certificate of authenticity point to an edition by the artist’s hand. Small editions keep the sheet special and show that someone deliberately limited the output.
Light and care
Pigment inks are more lightfast than dye inks, yet giclées still do not belong in blazing sun. A frame with UV glass and an acid-free mat protects the color so that yellow and red stay strong for years. Have the dimensions of image and sheet named, since many giclées include a white border.
