Color as construction
Modern color photography reduces the palette until every color has a job: a single red, a strip of yellow, a large blue. You can find modern color photos for sale at 500 to 1,000 euro here, with a clear appearance.
Here color acts as a building block, not as decoration. Planes are set against each other, accents sit exactly. A good print keeps these placements clean and separates the tones sharply, which matters especially with large areas.

An accent in calm surroundings
A picture like this unfolds its effect on a neutral wall above a plain piece of furniture. Pick up the dominant color once more in the room, in a vase for instance, and the picture fits in.
Practical points before buying
Ask about paper, margin width and edition size. Strong colors do not tolerate harsh sun, so a spot by the window is unsuitable. A frame with UV protection can improve durability. With reduced color pictures especially, a look at the color temperature of the light in the room helps. Warm evening light makes red and orange glow more, cool daylight brings out blue and green.
