The found pattern

Rust, water, glass reflections or the edges of the sky are seen so close that only surface and color remain. Without montage the eye counts: crop, moment, light. Photographic paper renders gradients and edges cleanly.

Hanging and lighting
Hang a picture like this at eye level with space to the sides. Soft light from the side emphasizes the surfaces. Several prints from the same series can be hung as a group of three.
Notes for buying
Ask about edition, paper and signature. With abstract photography it helps when the description tells what the motif originally shows, even if the picture works without explanation. A note on hanging: abstract pictures often have no fixed top and bottom. Ask which orientation the photographer intends and have the signature position named, so the picture hangs the right way up.
