Paper under paint
Acrylic and collage on canvas combine the strength of a stretched surface with glued-in papers, scraps and text. Here you can find acrylic collage paintings on canvas for sale that treat paint and material as equals.
On canvas, the glued paper pieces are held together by the acrylic film. They can shine through when thin, or stand as relief when layered. The acrylic medium acts like a skin that binds everything.

How it speaks in a room
Collages on canvas feel sturdier than works on paper and need no glass frame. With a floating frame or painted edges they sit on the wall without any extra shell and keep a surface you can almost feel in raking light.
Clarify beforehand
Ask what kinds of materials were glued in and whether they are lightfast, since newsprint fades if left uncovered. Reliable descriptions say so explicitly. Mention the hanging point as well: relief on the surface does not tolerate pressure, and the hook should carry the full weight of the canvas.
