Fragments with force

Mixed media pictures with expressionist ambition break the photo apart: some pieces stay, others get covered. Between them stand bands of color that hold the picture together or tear it open. Typical is a change between very dark and very light zones that dramatize the photo. The overpainting follows no rules of fidelity to nature but those of feeling, and that determines the character of the whole work.

A strong spot
Such a work needs a wall that can carry it. An empty room, a stair wall or a narrow side of the living room works well. Keep neutral furniture nearby so nothing distracts.
Just ask
Note format, support and weight. Ask about adhesive and fixing of charcoal, which can otherwise rub off. A photo in daylight and one in raking light show more than the text.
