Originals in this selection, Impressionism, Metal, 1,000 to 2,000 euro.
Dabs on a shining ground
Impressionism wants to catch light, and metal brings some along: every dab of color glints once the viewing angle changes. Impressionist mixed media with metal from 1,000 to 2,000 euro is for sale if you want shimmering light on your wall.
On metal, dabbed colors stay wet longer on the surface and mix in the eye rather than on the sheet. Leaf, copper or an aluminum ground bounce room light back between the marks. That creates the typical impression of sun on water or wind in leaves, which changes with the daylight.

Size at this level
Pictures from the 1,000 to 2,000 euro tier often bring enough surface for the dabs to work as one impression. From a few yards away they flow into landscape, garden or water, up close everything breaks into color points. You can use that deliberately in a room.
Plan the reflections
Metal reacts to light more strongly than canvas. Hang the picture to the side of a window rather than opposite it, so reflections do not overpower the dabs. Check hanging, weight and protective lacquer, and ask for photos from several angles.
