Everything from one pencil
Pure pencil work at a high level shows that a single tool is enough. You can buy pencil drawings for sale from 1,000 to 2,000 euro when you are after a sheet in which technique and expression find each other.
Without color, a drawing has to work through rhythm, density and brightness. Those who master this set faint veils beside darks that gleam almost like metal. The outcome is closer to an etching than to a sketch. Some artists work for weeks on a single sheet, adding layer after layer until the desired tone is reached.

A place with weight
Sheets at this level deserve a spot you do not rehang every week. A mantel, a hallway wall or the surface behind a dining table are good places. A walnut frame goes well with the warm greys of graphite.
Deciding with confidence
Compare size and paper weight and make sure the work is signed. With a certificate of authenticity you have a record in hand later.
