Collage from NALU - The Art Of Surfing, Japan, 7/2014, Nr. 93
XXIII 29 - Dancing with myself by Uli Lächelt is a compelling painting that merges delicate line work with subtle collage elements. The artist’s fluid, almost calligraphic strokes sketch a solitary figure in motion, evoking a sense of introspective dance. The minimalist composition is punctuated by vintage surfboard illustrations, introducing a nostalgic contrast that enriches the narrative. This interplay between the abstracted human form and textured paper fragments invites contemplation on identity and solitude. The restrained color palette and dynamic lines emphasize movement and emotion, making the piece both visually striking and conceptually layered. Through this painting, Lächelt explores themes of self-reflection and the intricate dance between external influences and inner experience.
