Collage from The Monumental Work on Leonardo da Vinci
Emil Vollmer Verlag, 4th edition 1955
"X 173 - Daniela" by Uli Lächelt is a compelling painting that merges delicate line work with a textured collage background. The artist overlays a translucent figure, rendered with expressive, multicolored contours, atop a layered surface of vintage text and anatomical illustrations. This interplay between the ephemeral human form and the archival imagery evokes a dialogue between memory, identity, and the passage of time. The muted earth tones and subtle use of white create an atmospheric depth, while the intricate detailing of the hands and face invites closer contemplation. Lächelt’s technique balances abstraction with figuration, resulting in a piece that is both intellectually engaging and visually poetic. The painting’s fusion of narrative elements and material complexity makes it a distinctive exploration of human presence within a fragmented historical context.
