Original artwork description
This painting is part of my “Sovereign Solitude collection which marks a deliberate and mindful shift in my studio practice. While the internal paint handling carries the same dense, tapestried harmony of acrylics and solvents that defines my signature style, this body of work introduces a deep sense of spatial restraint and breathing room.
My process remains entirely reactionary and uninhibited, allowing layers of vibrant pigments to fracture and rupture organically to reveal their underlying history. However, instead of pushing the paint edge-to-edge, these compositions purposefully isolate the margins.
By allowing calm, neutral borders to push inward, the dense gestural fields are left to float within the frame. This structural boundary creates a powerful, floating spatial tension. The resulting works function as monumental statement pieces that do not merely decorate an environment, but command the light, weight, and presence of the entire room.
