### Fragment No. 4 — The Storm Born from Clear Skies
There are moments when an apparently perfect landscape begins to change without the change yet being possible to name. The light remains clear, the blue seems endless, and the horizon preserves the silence of a distant space, perhaps somewhere on an island lost in the ocean. And yet, within this serenity, something begins to gather.
The painting begins from this suspended moment, when sky and sea almost lose their boundaries, and atmosphere becomes more important than place. The island does not need to be seen, the ocean does not need to be represented, because they exist more as a sensation of distance, isolation, and infinity. Blue becomes space, air, water, and light at the same time.
Then, almost imperceptibly, the serenity begins to cloud. Matter gathers, darkness enters the light, and painterly gestures cross the surface like the first signs of a change in weather. It is not yet the storm. It is the moment when the atmosphere seems to know, before the eye does, that something is approaching.
The storm does not come from outside paradise. **It is born within serenity.**
From here, the true tension of the work begins. What seemed stable becomes unstable; what seemed to be merely colour begins to acquire depth, time, and anticipation. The eye tries to identify what is emerging, but form refuses to settle. The cloud may become matter, matter may become distance, and blue may be, for a moment, both sky and sea.
There is also a fragile, almost paradoxical beauty here: the storm does not destroy paradise, but reveals its precariousness. Serenity becomes more intense precisely when it ceases to be certain. Calm and threat coexist for a moment in an improbable configuration, and beauty emerges from this tension that the eye cannot resolve.
Perhaps this is precisely where Mindscape begins.
Not in the description of a place, but in creating the conditions for an intuition. The painting does not tell us where we are or what is happening. It leads us toward that moment when something is felt before it is understood.
In this sense, the work does not represent the storm, but **its possibility**. It does not imagine an event, but constructs its anticipation. And this anticipation transforms the viewer from observer into participant: each of us completes what the painting leaves open.
And perhaps its true subject is precisely this fragile moment in which nothing has yet happened, but something has already become inevitable.
