Original artwork description
The work shown is one of a series of nine paintings. Conceptually, the series deals with the consequences of human indifference, nihilism and the triumph of hope. This painting represents nationalism.
Dictionary: na·tion·al·ism :the conviction that the culture and interests of your nation are superior to those of any other nation.
Acrylic on superior rolled canvas board, this painting has a base coat of raw sienna and consists of further opaque pigments with subsequent layers of colour washes. This layering of the work gives it texture and controlled vibrance.
Finally, the painting has a coat of acrylic UV varnish, this not only protects the painting but has a unifying effect. The work only needs framing to make it ready to hang.
