Fracture explores the fragile boundary between composure and collapse. Layers of charcoal obscure and reveal the figure simultaneously, while sweeping vertical marks interrupt the portrait like traces of time or memory. Rather than depicting a moment of despair, the work reflects the quiet complexity of carrying what cannot easily be spoken. The portrait remains present, even as it begins to dissolve.
