This oil painting depicts the old village of Montferrier sur Lez (Hérault) perched on top of a hill not far from the city of Montpellier. It is a composition based on sketches and watercolors made in three different places. In the upper part is the old village seen from the east, with the church on the left and the castle on the right. An old farmhouse and a vineyard fill the lower half. This oil does not require framing owing to its large size . The sides are painted black. This work is ready to hang.
It is reproduced in the book 'Le Grand Montpellier et les peintres'
