This painting originates from a photograph of the Palazzo del Novecento in Milan: a facade with decorative stone elements, a brick wall reinterpreted in a palette of violets and lilac, a classical bas-relief with figures in the upper corner. The Area Pedonale street sign brings the eye back to the present, creating a visual short-circuit between architectural memory and contemporary urban codes.
After the photographic phase I digitally decomposed the image, isolating volumes and reinventing the interior spaces, which become a field of sinuous waves in teal, black and violet. From this synthesis the painting emerges: acrylics mixed with sand on canvas and stretcher bar, building a tactile and material surface.
The work is presented in a wooden frame and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity
