This work invites the viewer to reflect. On one hand, we can discern the image of a classic painting by Juan de Flandés of Queen Joanna of Castile, nicknamed The Mad. But this queen, beyond her nickname, is known not to have been mad, but rather a victim of her historical and familial circumstances. Other features are also discernible; they belong to Rita Hayworth. And the dream, which is not madness, of having the possibility of appearing within that circle that defines a face. A face that is anonymous but can cease to be so.
A mixture of textures and qualities exalts the richness of this painting, with a recycled frame that contributes to the works message.
