Summer Dream No. 06 by Jan Walczewski

Original artwork description

---

Inspired by the atmospheric landscapes of J.M.W. Turner and the tonal subtlety of Japanese landscape painting, this photograph explores the meeting of sea and sky through delicate transitions of colour and light. The horizon becomes almost imperceptible, dissolving into muted blues, warm greys and earthy tones.

Like Turner, I am less interested in describing the sea than in capturing its fleeting mood — the subtle tension between light and shadow, the softness of distant forms, and the almost abstract beauty of the natural world. The landscape becomes a study in atmosphere, where colour and light take precedence over detail.

A fine art photograph conceived as a dialogue between photography and painting.
