A material that loves shadow
Paper looks light, yet as sculpture it can stand surprisingly firm: folded, layered, cast or modeled as papier-mâché. Here you can find paper sculptures for sale that show how much form is hidden in a sheet.
Paper sculptures live on edges and folds. Fine cuts cast shadows, layers build volume, and the matte surface takes light softly. The material stays visible even when it has been painted or soaked, and that is what gives these pieces their character.

Space, light and dust
Keep paper objects dry and out of direct sun, ideally under a display dome or in a niche. Dust can only be removed with a soft brush. Ask about stiffness and sealing. For figurative work look at statues, and for larger pieces see 2,000 to 5,000 euro.
Techniques with paper
People tell folding, cutting, layering, papier-mâché and pulp casting apart. Each method changes weight and surface. The listing usually says which was chosen, and with it whether the piece reads as more graphic or more bodily.
