How to show sketches
Sketches feel honest and personal. Show them where people look from close by: in a hallway, beside the desk, on a bookshelf. A mat with a bit of distance to the edge keeps the paper tone visible and lifts the line work.
Detail questions for the description
Check whether the sketch is signed, dated or inscribed, and whether it was released from a pad. Paper type and stains matter too, since sketch paper reacts more sensitively to light and moisture than watercolor board.
