Katja Eminusk

Katja Eminusk Ebert (*1966 in Munich) studied psychology, philosophy, physics, chemistry and art education in Würzburg and Gießen and contemporary painting at the European Academy of Art in Trier, Germany.

She works in Berlin and in Gießen, Germany.

She holds a master's degree in physics.

The painter and graduate physicist experiments with color values. Her exploratory interest is equally directed at color in its material or physical nature as well as its emotional potential. She devotes herself to color as an autonomous and painting-constituting element.

What can at first be understood as an interplay of geometric or material structure with color harmonies and color tones, ultimately is intended to release the color from dominant surface forms so that it can fully unfold its potential. The painterly process is based on the question of what color can do for our perception, recognition, experience and existence.

Since 2020, her artistic work has expanded to include printmaking and installation works, and since 2022, digital drawings created on a tablet.
