The paintings of Andrii Chebotaru are distinguished by bold compositions and a vibrant color palette. His work combines various genres—from delicate lyrical landscapes to intense, dramatic urban motifs. He masterfully works with color, achieving an explosive chromatic effect while maintaining harmony. Constantly participating in plein-air sessions, he strives to capture every natural state: sunrises and sunsets, the movement of water, the breath of the earth, and the power of wind.
“While traveling, I immerse myself in a land of dreams and desires. Magnificent landscapes and a magical atmosphere give me energy and inspiration for creativity,” notes Andrii Chebotaru.
COLLECTIONS
Works by the artist are held in galleries and private collections in Ukraine, the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, China, and Taiwan.
What distinguishes my work from that of other artists is a deep commitment to plein-air painting as a core artistic method rather than a reference or preliminary stage. I work directly in front of nature, capturing not only visual impressions but also the energy, movement, and atmosphere of a specific moment—wind, light, humidity, and rhythm.
My paintings combine the traditions of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism with a contemporary sensitivity to color and texture. Through expressive brushwork, impasto surfaces, and vibrant chromatic contrasts, I seek to transform natural motifs into emotional landscapes rather than literal representations.
Travel plays a crucial role in my practice. Painting across Ukraine, Europe, and the Mediterranean, I absorb diverse landscapes and cultural atmospheres, allowing each place to shape the character of the work. Despite this geographic diversity, my art remains unified by a recognizable personal language and a strong sense of harmony.
Ultimately, my goal is not to document reality, but to convey a sense of presence, freedom, and inner balance, inviting the viewer to experience nature as a living, breathing force.
